    This 165-hour program is designed to prepare students for employment as nursing assistants, nursing aides, and orderlies, and nurse aides in nursing homes.  Those students who satisfactorily complete an approved course are eligible to apply to take the Florida nursing assistant exam.  The content includes, but is not limited to, interpersonal skills, medical terminology, legal and ethical responsibilities, safe and efficient work, gerontology, nutrition, health and safety including Cardio-pulmonary Resuscitation (CPR) - heart saver level, and employability skills.

    General Enrollment Requirements:
    • Must be 18 years old
    • Must show proof of high school diploma or high school equivalency diploma OR enroll concurrently (and remain enrolled) in adult education classes and work toward completing a high school diploma or its equivalency
    • Must meet Florida residency requirements or pay out-of-state tuition rate
    • Must pass background screening and drug screening
    • Must have all course related tuition and registration fees paid by December 9, 2016

    Winter term: January 10, 2017 - April 20, 2017
    Tuesday & Thursday 5:00 PM - 9:00 PM
    Clinical practice on Saturdays 7:00 AM-3:00 PM
