Guardian Program
The Baker County School District participates in the Chris Hixon, Coach Aaron Feis & Scott Beigel Guardian Program.
Florida Safe Schools Canine Program
The Baker County School District participates in the Florida Safe Schools Canine Program. This program allows for the use of a firearm detection canine which is employed by the Baker County Sheriff’s Office for use at Baker County High School for the primary purpose of aiding in the detection of firearms and ammunition. The firearm detection canine is trained to interact with children and has completed behavior and temperament training.
The Baker County School District received Bella as part of this new program who is now a part of the Baker County family. She is a 2 year old German Short Haired Pointer. When she is not working, she enjoys playing with the students, faculty and staff and chasing her Kong toy in the fields around campus. Deputy Ricky Crews is her handler.
