Reporting a Safety Threat or Concerning Behavior

The Baker County School District is committed to meeting the needs of all students in a safe, nurturing, and encouraging environment. To ensure student safety, everyone must be willing to report any threatening or concerning behavior. We would like to inform you of the several methods that are available for students, parents, faculty and staff to report suspicious behaviors that they deem to be concerning. You may use any of the following resources to report threatening and concerning behaviors:

Report a concern directly to any faculty, staff or administrator- This is the best method to immediately report threatening or concerning behaviors to school officials.

Call the school to speak to an administrator- This option allows for immediate reporting to school officials during school hours.

See Something, Say Something Hotline - Dial 904-259-0953 to report any possible threats or serious concerning behaviors during the day or after school hours. This option is available to everyone 24 hours a day and will alert school and sheriff’s office officials.

Fortify Florida- An anonymous 24-hour reporting application that is available on all student devices and can be downloaded to any personal device where reports are directed to school and district level staff, sheriff's office representatives and state officials. This reporting tool is available at getfortifyfl.com or you can download the application to your cellular device.

If you see something, say something. It takes all of us remaining vigilant and willing to report concerning student behaviors to ensure everyone's safety. Be sure to familiarize yourself with these reporting methods and utilize them when necessary.

 

Making False Reports
 Florida Statute 943.082 states that if, following an investigation, it is determined that a person knowingly submitted a false tip through FortifyFL, the internet protocol (IP) address of the device on which the tip was submitted will be provided to law enforcement agencies for further investigation, and the reporting party may be subject to criminal penalties under Section 837.05, F.S. In all other circumstances, unless the reporting party has chosen to disclose his or her identity, the report will remain anonymous. Make sure that you REPORT, NOT REPOST!!
