Baker County School District’s elementary and secondary schools boast many extracurricular activities, career and technical clubs, and athletics ensuring students are prepared for the workforce and in competitive endeavors. Elementary Opportunities
Our three elementary schools (Legacy Elementary School, Macclenny Elementary School, and Westside Elementary School) are where the love of Science, Technology, Engineering, Art, and Mathematics (STEAM) begins with our STEAM and Robotics clubs. Our young students are offered many other extracurricular club activities as well. Below is a listing of all of the wonderful opportunities for our elementary students:
Legacy Elementary School offers STEAM Club, ROC, Just Say No, Sign Language Club, Paw Patrol, Lion’s Roar, Guitar Gang, Girls on the Run, and Kid’s Heart Challenge in PE.
Westside Elementary School offers Super Kids For Christ, Merrie Melodies, Just Say No Club, Book Club, Panther Growl, PBIS Club, and STEAM Club.
Macclenny Elementary School offers King’s Kids, Journalism, Robotics, Just Say No Club, and PBIS Patrol. A fall and spring 5K is held for students and families to participate in. In PE, students participate in Jump Rope For Heart, Fitness Gram, Mileage Club, Kid’s Heart Challenge and Kid’s Combine.
Secondary Opportunities
As students progress to Baker County Middle School, additional opportunities for being a part of a club or organization exist as academics combine with service for others through Beta Club, Future Farmers of America (FFA), Drama, Black Heritage, Fellowship of Christian Athletes, Art, Debate, Youth Power, Science, Future Educators, and eSports Clubs.
Athletics at Baker County Middle School include Flag Football, Football, Volleyball, Girls’ and Boys’ Basketball, Baseball, Softball, Cheer, Dance, and Majorettes.
Baker County High School is proud to provide our students the opportunity to participate in Beta Club, Black History, Drama, Fellowship of Christian Athletes, Electrical, Family, Career & Community Leaders of America Clubs, Future Business Leaders of America (FBLA), Future Farmers of America (FFA), Health Occupations of America (HOSA), High-Q, History Club, Mu Alpha Theta, Skills USA, Travel, and Youth Power. Students at Baker County High School are also able to participate in Marching Band, Majorettes, Cheer, Dance, Junior Air Force Reserve Officer Training Corps, and student government.
Baker County High School athletics include competition sports teams for eligible students. Sports offered are baseball, basketball, competitive cheerleading, cross country, flag football, football, soccer, softball, swimming, tennis, track & field, volleyball, weightlifting, and wrestling. Requirements include a minimum 2.0 GPA yearly.
