Baker County School District
"It's Better in Baker" Hancock Family Spotlight
It is an exciting time in Baker County. Our schools are experiencing some of the greatest academic success in the history of the district. Over the next several years, we would like to celebrate our past, present, and future success by spotlighting some of the families that have been an integral part of our school system for many generations. We will invite families from across the county to participate because we value you, we value your children, and we see your story as our own….All because it started with a Baker County education!
Our very first “It’s Better in Baker” family spotlight focuses on the Hancock family. Bob and Janice Hancock have numerous reasons to believe that “It’s Better In Baker”. Both are graduates of and retired from the Baker County School District. Janice retired as a first grade teacher and Bob as a teacher, coach, and administrator for the district. They continue to give back to our school system as business partners and educators in retirement solutions for school personnel. Three generations of the Hancock family have been educated in the Baker County School District. Bob and Janice “are proud to have roots in Baker County and to be a part of such a tight-knit community that values education.”

Lock Your Meds Campaign
The Lock Your Meds® campaign, created by the National Family Partnership, is a universal prevention campaign intended to save lives by preventing prescription drug abuse, which is the fastest growing substance abuse problem in America. Did you know that 67% of abused medications come from family and friends, not a stranger/drug dealer or the internet? Lock Your Meds® encourages people to secure and take regular inventory of their medication so it doesn't fall into the wrong hands. Many adults may be unintentional suppliers and awareness is the key to ending this preventable epidemic. Click HERE for campaign resources
