Baker County Adult Education:
"Preparing Individuals to be Lifelong Learner, Self Sufficient and
Responsible Citizens of Good Character"
The Baker County Adult Education Center (BCAEC) located on Minnesota Avenue has something for everyone— academic instruction toward completing a high school education to college classes through distance learning!
For adults 18 and older who need to complete a high school education, the Baker Adult Education Center offers day and evening classes of Adult Basic Education to improve literacy and test preparation for GED® testing. With successful GED® test scores, adults earn a Florida High School Diploma---a first step toward employment, entering college or other post-secondary training program. Tuition is $30 per term and a valid picture ID is required. Adults may qualify for tuition assistance and GED® test fee assistance through a Career Source grant. Certified teachers are available to assist adult education students with an individualized program of study. Adults who academically qualify and have internet access may complete part of their education program online.
For adults who have a high school diploma and are interested in college classes, the Baker County Adult Education Center houses an interactive distance learning lab that allows Florida Gateway College to broadcast a variety of college credit courses to the Baker community—saving students travel time and money. For more information on college course enrollment at the BCAEC site, please visit the Career Pathways tab on this page.
Recently added is the Certified Nursing Assistant training program to help adults move quickly into a health field career. Please see the CNA tab for more information.
At the Baker County Adult Education Center, we hope to inspire you to become the very best you! We look forward to serving you.
