Dads, Take Your Child to School Day - September 27, 2017
Research suggests that when fathers are actively involved in their child’s education, students:
On September 27, 2017, Macclenny Elementary along with the Florida Department of Education will observe “Dads, Take Your Child to School Day”. We are encouraging all dads to bring their child to school that day. In case dad is not able to attend, we invite step-dads, grandfathers, uncles, or any other male role model to bring your child to school. In past years, our students have been so proud to have these men walk them to class. Please have your ID available and sign in at the front office.
We would like to especially recognize our dads who have served/are serving in the military or are first responders (police, EMTs, etc.) These heroes do such much for us and we cannot thank them enough!!!! Your child has a paper with a star. Please fill out the star so that it can be added to our wall of recognition. The stars need to be returned by Tuesday, September 26, 2017. We encourage you to send in a photo so they can be displayed with the star (please label the photo).
You can find a copy of the letter with the star here.
Hurricane Make-Up Days
In an effort to regain some of the valuable instructional time that we lost during Hurricane Irma, the decision has been made to change our remaining early dismissal days to regular school days. These dates are as follows: October 4th, November 1st, December 6th, February 14th, March 7th, March 30th, and May 9th.
Welcome to Macclenny Elementary School, home of the Wild Kittens! We educate students in first, second and third grade in Baker County, Florida.
